We have produced a series of special reports to mark the Taiwan Indigenous People's day. Following Global View, we continue with reports on New Zealand and Canada to mark the International Indigenous Day, on August 9th. Global View.
First in New Zealand, In this episode we will introduce you a New Zealand's law enacted in 2004, which states that the ocean and coasts are public property. This was unacceptable to the Maoris, who then began a series of protests to fight for their traditional maritime territories. This could become a key issue in the country's parliamentary elections later this year. Now, let's rewind to 2004 in New Zealand.

@MsAngel118 If you read the Treaty carefully you'll see it's a clear cession of sovereignty in exchange for British citizenship and little else. European people are not here by anyone's 'consent' and certainly not by Maori consent. Maoris are not indigenous and your short-sighted ancestors ceded sovereignty and sold almost all their land. This is not your country and never will be again! This is the land of my people and always will be.

This countries founding document Te Tirity O Waitangi. If you read carefully, it is the document allowing the pakeha to live in this country with Maori. Awsome!! Bahaha
