Part 2 of 3

Joe's POV:
I pulled into my driveway and turned down the radio. I jumped out and noticed that Gray and Rory were kissing in the Anderson's driveway. It was kind of... interesting? They both pulled away when they noticed me, and Gray gave me a small wave. At least the guy was trying to be a little nice to me... even though I probably didn't deserve it.
"Hey man." Gray said to me.
"Hey." I said back. The last time I had talked to him was when I was drunk... so I didn't really know what to say to the guy. Besides, I never really liked him anyway.
"I heard you and my girl have to do a project together." He smiled, hugging Rory from behind. She giggled and nuzzled her head into his neck. Yeah, that was really weird to watch. I mean what kind of guy calls his girlfriend his girl? That just sounds... I don't know... it just sounds stupid.
"Yeah." I answered. Why is it that I usually cant shut up, but now I can't think of anything but one word responses? "It should be interesting."
"Definitely. You guys will have to let me know how that goes." Gray smiled again. And you know, he wasn't even being fake nice like most people, he was actually being nice. How was this guy being so nice to me after everything? I guess I was wrong about him... he was a really great guy.
"I should probably get inside." Rory said to Gray. "And you probably need to get home to Ana. I wouldn't want your mom to worry about you."
"You're right. I'll call you later." He kissed her on the cheek and then got in his car and drove away, leaving Rory and I standing there.
Rory waved slightly, and I waved back. Then, we both awkwardly walked back to our houses and went inside. Man, this was going to be a very stressful month. I mean, I have football practice almost every day, a girlfriend that needs way too much attention, and now a former best friend who I have to make a movie with... this should be interesting...
Rory's POV:
I went inside and then did all of my homework, which actually wasn't very much tonight. Then, I just lay on my bed and thought about Joe... not in a romantic way, just in a curious way. What was I supposed to do about him? I looked at the clock; it was 5:30... My family was leaving for dinner at 6:00. So, I got up and walked into my closet. I skimmed over the racks of clothes, not really seeing anything that caught my eye. My mom walked into my room and saw that I was having trouble.
"You need help honey?" Mom asked me.
"I just don't know what to wear, I can't find anything." I sighed frustrated.
"I see." She said.
She walked into my closet and started to look through everything. Then, she pulled out a white summer dress. I looked at her skeptically, but she just smiled and put it into my hands.
"Wear this, it looks great on you." She suggested. "We are going somewhere nice tonight, and I think that this would be perfect."
"Okay mom, whatever you say." I smiled and shook my head at her.
She left my room, and I slipped on the dress and did my hair. I was going to wear a pair of white ballet flats, but then I decided against it. Instead, I decided to put on a pair of converse. Yeah, that was way more me. I looked in the mirror and thought that I looked presentable, so I went downstairs to meet mom and dad.
"Nice shoes." My dad said to me smiling.
"Thanks." I laughed. "I thought they really complimented the dress well."
We all went out to the car and drove to the restaurant. When we got there, my parents told them our name and that we had a reservation.
"The rest of your party is already here." The waitress smiled. Wait! What rest of the party? What were my parents up to?
"What rest of the party?" I asked my dad.
"You'll see." He said.
The waitress led us to the table, and I was shocked by who I saw sitting there. Sitting at the table was the Jonas family... and I mean THE ENTIRE Jonas family. Joe looked up at me and then looked to his parents, obviously just as surprised to see me as I was to see him.
"I can't believe you." I whispered to my dad.
"It's time that you two talk." He whispered back.
I kept looking at Joe, and he kept looking at me. What was I going to do? What was I supposed to say to him? I can't believe my parents did this! I can't believe Paul and Denise did this! Uhh why do adults always have to be so nosy?
