First: Watch in HD please! :)

This is my first time lapse video. Like the title says, it's captured in my hometown, Alta, which is very far north in Norway.

I've used the digital SLR Pentax K10D to capture it using a wire release with a timer on it (a video review of the wire release is coming at a later time). Capturing this is the last thing I did with it before I sold it. I'm now waiting for my new white Pentax K-x.

The downtempo tune in the video is The Journey by Briareus released under the Creative Commons license "Attribution-Noncommercial 3.0 Unported"

  • I love it !

what kind of program did you used to pick the pictures together ?

  • @testtesttest35 I'm glad you liked it :D

I put them together in Adobe Premiere Pro CS5. You go to Import, choose one picture, check the check box for numbered stills, and they're imported as a clip. Very easy and simple :)

  • @ArcticExposure Thanks for your reply! :)

I got the same camera, I'm just waiting for my timer, i bought a few days ago on the internet - I will send you a link with the final result ;)

    greetings from frankfurt, germany.

  • @testtesttest35 Nice It's my pleasure :) Good luck with it, I'm looking forward to see the result :)

  • Likte dettan.

  • @gsmark455 Do you mean 8GB, not MB?

I used 4GB cards for this, I've got three of them. I didn't shoot it all in one go, I had several trips with empty cards, so 8GB is plenty :) The video consists of about 3300 exposure, 15 per second.

I'll be buying a new remote timer for mye K-x so I can make time lapse videos with it as well :)

Good luck on your own project =) Looking forward to seeing it.

  • The soundtrack reminds me of a female 'Jim Morrison'. The words are beautiful, and it was a good choice for your video track. How many exposures did you use? It seems like hundreds. I've never done one before. I'm just imagining how to go about it. My first thought is, "am I going to have enough space on a 8MB SD card for so many exposures?" I'll have to read your blog and study up on it. Nice job.
