Even nofollow links have SEO benefit. The only thing they don't pass, is pagerank. They do pass anchor text for relevancy, just not modified in strength by the PR.
However, commenting with your keywords as the nickname is just a bad idea in my opinion, unless you just don't care.. Nobody likes getting their blog spammed. Instead, use it as outreach, to let them know you read their blog. If they recognize you, you'll have better results contacting them.

I've been posting comments on other blogs. This sounds like another good way to attract attention. I've got to be on their blog anyway so why not. Thanks for the tip.
I only post to blogs that allow me to enter my website. Besides giving people a way to get to my site by clicking my name, does this create a back link to my blog for search engines? I've wondered about this and figured you would know.

@FenderGibsonWashburn " dofollow " blogs count as links according to the experts. nothing beats having a blogger write about your site though ;) you get the link and the traffic and the exposure

vids are great. Will stay subscribed. By the way, do you use adsense as a source of your income? or are you just an affiliate marketer?
