I'll be posting a longer "for fun" version of the same tune later.

I already have a video of Tom playing this 2003 composition on this same Steinway grand piano, but A) it was shot with my old camera which had crappy audio quality, and B) Tom plays the second half of this tune quite differently every time.

In fact, when Tom created a sheet music score for this, the second two strains were written out as 30 pages of variations along with a suggestion to ignore them all and "just wing it."

This was at the 2010 Sutter Creek Ragtime Festival, which is held every August in Sutter Creek, California.

  • i take back what i said, after listening to every single variation i could find over and over and over i can't decide anymore, they're all great

  • @MasterPenguinMP Heh, it's like how Tom couldn't decide how to write down the third strain, so the score for the piece has 30 pages of variations to choose from with a note that the pianist probably should choose none of them and just wing it.
