My daily driver is E46 328i and E30 325i weekends. 325i is more responsive with Signature Motoring performance (CAI) intake kit. Installed it myself in under half hour. HP increase on the 325i is about 9.5HP for a cost of $170 or around $19 per HP gain. Best 1st performance mod to do. Other application data:
E30 series: 6.0-13.4hp gain
E36 series: 5.5-12hp gain
E46 series: 6.0-13.9hp gain
E92 series: 8.5+ hp gain
Z3/Z4 (all): 5.5-13.9hp gain

@PS2Gameplays E32 has it's max power at 5000rpm and still 88% of it at 5800rpm.
-
@muuri5 Still, there's not much power left over 4500rpm...
-
@PS2Gameplays Depends on engine, in E30 I had problems with injection pump and in E32 with valve springs..
-
@muuri5 Any problems if you rev it so high?

@PS2Gameplays Tech swap.

@PS2Gameplays Check my other vid (dyno20100529), that's my current daily driven diesel revving to 6200rpm.

@xpsCROSSER But this wasn't stock, it had it's max power at around 4000-5500. Better acceleration if you max the average power in each gear.. slower if you change too early or too late.
