What is the evidence? What are the causes? What are the solutions? Global warming and climate change are raising extreme risks and uncertainties about the future of the planet.

  • as far as i konw, electricity does not support the global warming if it's produce by renewable resourses (sun, wind, water dams)or am i wrong?

  • Those would certainly be the best sources we could use.

In the short term, it takes lots of fossil fuel energy to acrually construct such a renewable energy source.

In the long term, I'd much rather have a wind turbine in my front yard than be living without electricity. ;-)

  • climate change - Is CO2 the cause? No it's the water vapour coming fron hydrocarbons combustion. Overall the water vapour coming from volcano eruption (untill 98% of water vapour).

SEE: the real effect of the climate change

  • CO2 is only one of the global warming gasses. Don't forget methane, CFCs, etc.

As far as water vapour is concerned, there has been no measurable change in the last 100 years. At the same time, we've went from an equivalent of 280 ppm of other greenhouse gasses to something like 450 ppm (adding in CO2, methane, CFCs, etc.)

  • Show me proof that co2 causes global warming and i'll think about it...but to this day i'm still not convinced. You can't blame humanity for something thats been going on for billions of years(climate change), most of witch humans were not even around for. Ice records clearly show that co2 concentrations follow after temp changes take place. What we should be looking at is ALL the posible causes of the warming and not just one...things like the Sun, water vapor, cloud cover and the list goes on.

  • Yes, ice records do sometimes show that global warming is followed by CO2 increases. Such warmings are typically due to solar variation.

BUT, we also know that CO2 is a greenhouse gas. Without the greenhouse gasses, the entire planet would be below freezing all the time. By increasing the CO2 and other greenhouse gas levels, we are causing the temperature to rise.

There are different causes to CO2 changes. Increase temperatures can cause CO2 increase, but the opposite is ALSO true.

  • With record breaking winter temps in the northern hemisphere of the planet at the moment.

I am completely convinced, man made climate change is far from happening!

Anyone pushing the CLIMATE CHANGE hoax is charlatan...

ITS ALL ABOUT MONEY AND MAKING PEOPLE PAY FOR THE AIR THEY BREATH!!!

  • CO2 does not cause global warming. The correlation between CO2 and temperature is that CO2 lags temperature raise by 800 years. Not the other way around.

Cars emit CO (carbon MONOXIDE), a deadly gas, not CO2. Plants thrive on CO2 and we'd get a greener earth as a result.

Water vapor is the most relevant green house gas there is.

The sun and sunspot activity has more to do with global warming than any other factor.

Recommended research: "the dimming sun" and "CO2 and climate change".

  • Average Global Temperatures SPIKED +0.6C (+1.08 degrees F) since 1975.

Summer Arctic Sea Ice has dropped -50% since 1980.

Since 1950 atmospheric CO2 has spiked +30% over highest levels in 400,000+ years.

CO2 Ocean Acidification is up +30% since 1900!

    Oops?

  • 1.Weather is far to complex, thus impossible for us to make long term predictions.(even the short term predictions are often wrong)

2.Even if we are causing the global warming, why spend millions to prevent it? we could spend those money to be prepared for it because we now change will come even if we do nothing wrong - it seems more reasonable to me.

3.If it will happen, i can`t agree with IPCC on the consequences. they are simply beyond logic and come in contradiction with nr.1

  • No matter how much technological innovation humans have, we will always fuck up this planet. Planting a few trees and turning off a light every now and then won't do shit. Also when you recycle something what do you think happens to it? It goes to a factory where it is burned using electricity.

  • What is climate change? A myth. Temperature increase was due to solar flares. The bullshit that is global warming is not and was not caused by Human CO2 emissions, The majority of the worlds CO2 comes from organisms such as plankton. The brief temperature increase has caused more organisms such as plankton to multiple, hence an increase in CO2 emissions. Humans produce very little CO2 in comparison. The only reason the government encourages Global Warming is because of the taxes. It's a scam.

  • @DaveGibbagglers Are glaciers on the whole shrinking or growing worldwide?

    Answer: shrinking.

  • Has Al Gore explained how his Perito Moreno glacier is growing not shrinking and Mount Kilimanjaro's snow melt — used as a symbol of AGW by Al Gore — is entirely natural?

  • Nice presentation, guys - great images & lots of great suggestions at the end. Will you have a look at our own video about the environment? You can find it searching Youtube for 'A Story about Sustainability'. :o)

  • I'm a supporter of wave, wind, and solar power, but what I have always supported (as is in Europe) is nuclear power...which is renewable and there when you need it, very expensive though! What Im not a fan of is ethanol. You only get a small fraction more energy FROM ethanol as you do as the oil that goes into the production of it. Also if you converted 100% of america's farmland into corn, you would only reduce the demand for oil by 12%!!!!!!!!

  • Science already proved, therefore denial is no longer an issue, that to avoid global warming human suffering, the carbon content of fossil fuels must be progressively taxed on all world economies, returning all collected monies in equal parts to the inhabitants of each economy to reward ways of life and fuels that shall cause least damage to our common atmosphere.
