@SpeedfreaksNet there was a base model, a blueprint if you will, that both bikes came from. im not saying i can buy an R1 and a few months later with a few mods make it an M1, but there are similar components and ideas that both bikes came from. and you shouldnt have said the M1 is 800CC cuz its not anymore! back to liter bikes

Great riding, now I see what it takes to do a 1:40 lap at Eastern Creek.

I am by no means an expert and merely relaying what I have been told by many buddies who do track... It depends on the track as to who wins between a Busa and a R1. If it is a tight track with a lit of corners the R1 takes it in maneuverability, but if the track has more open straight aways the Busa takes it.
My buddies state they catch-up some in the corners on their R1s, but once they hit the straights the Busas pull away.
Again... I am no expert.

@jhardy66617 sorry but are you under the impression that a motogp m1 bike is just a modified r1? because its not. every component is completely different and made as a one off. cal crutchlow and rossi have said the r1 is like an armchair compared to a motogp bike. its a different animal all together!

Respond to this video... compared to a normal street suzuki theyre quite similar, a little lower bars and no real seat just the foam pad crap
they feel quite the same, theyre isnt a crazy carbon fiber piece anywhere that you couldnt just put on a street bike
take an R1 get the best performance parts and someone to tweak the ecu settings and such and youll have a very powerful bike capable of racing. just remember to screw the whole emissions thing :D

theyre the same layout as far as a bike as a whole
the degree of rake could be different and could have a slightly shorter swing arm but as a whole theyarent that far off. it only cost millions of dollars because of the research behind the production. you could take the research they have done and just buy the parts. it wont be set up perfectly for you but youll have pretty close to a rossi bike for much less then millions. ive sat on the suzuki gp bikes and to be continued

@synkronyk twitchy is really only a problem in a corner where a slight bit of throttle will whip you off
they may ride it it while it tries flicking them off throughout every corner but they wont do their best laps like that
-
@jhardy66617 you cant really compare rossi's m1 to an 09 r1 tho can you. its a prototype costing millions compared to a production road bike worth about 12 grand! the only thing that's the same is the engine layout!

yeh it does have a cross plane crank shaft but its not a boxer engine. a boxer engine is like what's found in a subaru impreza or the bmw r1150 gs. the pistons in a boxer engine move in opposite directions as opposed to the r1's inline motion
