  • that is cool but i would perfer using soemthing like the stream

  • I would like to get the stream but it is expensive. My local NLS library does not provide the Victor reader stream or the plex talk. They only have the C1 Cassette player and now this new digital player. It is comjpatible with the BARD internet download service.

  • What made you want to go with this versus, say, a PlexTalk or a Victor Stream? (JW). I think the NLS has a specific package bundle of the Stream you can get, but I don't know what the conditions are to obtain that.

  • My local NLS library does not provide the stream or the plextalk. I would have to perchase it out of pocket and it's not cheap.

  • Tis true. Out of curiosity, what books do you have on order in this cartridge format? I've also heard something along the lines of being able to hook up your cartridge to your PC (it's a standard Mini USB port on the end).

  • My first audio books are of Mary Higgins Clark " just take my life" and other mystery titles right now their are not too many abailable. but however I have signed up with BARD Download service. and I am also using the unabriged download serivec as well. Yes you can connect the cartridge to your computer it is just a standerd USB in the cartridge I even tried inserting a regular flash drive into the cartridge slot and it works the player will even play MP3 audio files such as music.

  • I like the idea behind this machine, I kind of wish the Vision Australia Library used the same system, I was supplied with a PlexTalk PTN1 PRO desktop CD based machine, I subsequently bought a VRS. I also used to have a Telex 4 track talking book cassette machine, what you guys call the C-1, I personally think those machines are HORRIBLE, I hate them so much, they break really easily and the APH/General Electric machines are so much better and can do so much more.
