the song was definitely written before 1998 - the release year of his first album. he was 25 at that point. i'd think the performance is from his early 20's. someone else might have a better idea.
i really like this song too, of course. :)

Only good things can be said about Rufus. He is amazing and this is one of my favorite songs of his. I heart him soooooooooo hard.
