Brandy had the most commercial success out of the 3, Aaliyah was the most unique, and Monica was the down to earth hood one. All 3 of them were vocally talented in there own ways. There's no reason to compare or pit them against each other, because they ALL sound better then the female artists today. (Ciara, Rihanna etc..)

The thing they had over Aaliyah was bigger voices. When Aaliyah was singing 'The One I Gave My Heart To' she seemed to push at the part where she saying "but you didn't love me" in every video. Then she just goes to doing a run with "but youuuuu" and goes to the next part of the song. But I think think she felt most comfortable singing while dancing. Whenever she did JTTP or TOIGMHT she didn't smile much. She was always smiling if she was doing a song she herself had a routine to.

i in love with brandy's voice so emotional just amazing, when Aaliyah sang and danced it looked so easy that s only because she SOO talented. Monica has a great voice but nothing more. I used to say that Brandy was the best but i must confess AALIAYAH is the BEST has she got a unique style.

Brandy has got the most amazing control over her voice and listening to her sing is like watching Leonardo da vinci create a masterpiece. It's just a work of art. She just sings beautifully. And her acting skills -- have you watched her guest appearance on Drop Dead Diva. whew. I would love to see her in the remake of The Bodyguard. It would be sooo amazing. And on Dancing With the Stars and Brandy in Africa she showed her dance skills. She's my favorite artist hands down.
