This was a graphical point-and-click adventure done by Lucasfilm Games (today known as LucasArts) in 1990. It based on a complex fantasy story. You played the role of Bobbin Threadbare, a young man from the Guild of Weavers. After the Council of Elders was attacked and turned into swans, you had to find them and try to restore order.

Loom was originally planned as the first game of a trilogy. However, Lucasfilm Games was a small company and busy with several projects in that time. No one could be found to do them, so the sequels "Forge" and "The Fold" were finally cancelled.

  • @paparas2000 Neat, thanks for the update.

Seems they will stick to the gameplay of the original game, which means no inventory space whatsoever.

I am glad to see that there are still people interested in making sequels to forgotten games rather than only popular ones.

  • PLEASE! Where does one find this theme song in Swan Lake? I know its freaking Tchaikovsky and thats the only help I have received. I played through most every darn Tchaikovsky performance and cant find this darn song anywhere in it. What act/part is it in?! Please tell me before someone gets hurt.

  • It is a shame that the proposed sequels were never made.

The second one would have been called Forge and the player would have assumed the role of the boy you meet during the game.

The sequels would have dealt with the invasion of the dead and how it would have been stopped.

  • This game was SO amazing way back in the day. Even now, the story is very compelling (literally weaving the fabric of existence? what an idea!) and the artwork is beautiful. Swan Lake was an appropriate choice for the soundtrack as well. Definitely a huge influence on my fantasy sense as a child. A classic!

  • If I'm not totally mistaken, the whole soundtrack of this game comes from Swan Lake.
