I would say a short lesson on the Dim7 chord but its kind of lengthy. If you want to skip straight to the bass part skip to around 5min. The first 5 min is more about forming and one way to use the chord. Sound quality isn't as good had to go back to the lightsnake because my mixer is at church.

Responding to Knightmayorz comment, "if we know anything else about the diminished chord to post it", there is another way (but, not limited to) to play the diminished notes. In Ricky Dillard's "The Light" at the first 7-10 seconds of the song the the band plays a popular current gospel motif. All three notes in this fill are notes out of the diminished chord. Even though it is not played in the place of a diminished chord you could use this fill (or variations of it) as one.

  • Hello thx for your great video :)

But i don't undrestand the part with triton (8.00 min)

I don't understand what you do. I have understood many licks with tritons but this lick i don't understand .. could you explain it because I would like to use in other songs

  • Nice! Thanks for the lesson... and the noodling. ;-)

  • @aaron1200123 yea btw hadrian a beast check out him wit chris coleman namm 2011

  • This tutorial put so many things into perspective for me. Firstly, it taught me that to be a good bassist or musician on a whole you have to know the theory of music and how it applies to your music and playing. I would often hear these bassist playing those licks and would always think my goodness....how did he hear that???....not realising that he has simply just applied theoretical techniques into his playing. Thanks Knightmayorz, this was really enlightening!!

  • @aaron1200123 me to tim rawbiz does that lick alot look up rp7

  • @lydellscooby

i've been trying to figure out that lick for the longest. its sort of similar to the lick hadrian feruad uses

  • THANNK YOU MAN! Awesome lesson. Short but to the point.

  • PLEASE TEACH US WHAT HAPPENED AT 8:16-8:18! PLEASE!!!!!
