  • Can we substitute vinegar with anything else?i read elsewhere that u can actually add baking powder and soda bicarbonate or cream of tartar?

  • @melinayunus yes I have heard you can use cream of tartar, sorry I dont know what the vinegar is for, probably just flavour

  • my pavlova ALWAYS sinks during the resting time and i can't figure out why! I didn't open the oven at all during baking time. :(

  • @cheekylittlefairy , did you follow this recipe? maybe be carefull when you pour the mixture out onto the tray, be carefull not to knock the air out of the mixture, handle as little as possible and make a nice even circle about 8 cm high. When it is done leave it in the oven to cool down, can be a few hours or more. Good luck! By the way I love Singapore!!

  • This is so weird as ive been using this recipe by you for ages!! I love it. I've even saved each bit as pictures just in case my Internet is too slow! Anyway after all this time I just noticed in the pic that it says 1 1/2 cup of sugar but I've always used just half a cup so literally came on here to ask u but have just seen that was the last comment!!! How weird haha! Anyway still is lovely either way!! Thanks for this vid!! X

  • @4yodz4 wooooow thats trippy! and yeah, I guess it doesnt matter on the sugar amount, depends on how sweet you like it. Im glad you like the vid. Dunno if you noticed but in the utencils list I include a sieve, yet I dont use it anywhere in the vid. When I made it I forgot to sieve the flour, haha...woops. And thanks for filling me in on the vinegar comment.

  • Its not australian. It was made in New Zealand well over 10 years before appearing in any australian cookbooks.

  • *cough* says the australian...

Its either from New Zealand or Australia, depending on the person you talk to.

Yeh I noticed that the first time i watched it haha. I assumed you needed it for the cornflour. But it still worked without it!

  • Also the vinegar is to make the meringue chewy inside!
