  • thank you for posting this. im running into a hang up when trying to boot tethered, as you do at 2:20, when i click on -boot tethered- i get this error message:

The AppleTV2,1_4.2.1_8C154 firmware is untethered and does not require this process!

    what should i do next?

  • @josephbland Seas0npass now uses the the same exploit greenpois0n does so you don't hate to boot tethered anymore. It is an untethered jailbreak!

  • hey there. thanks for the Vid! very helpful.

Just wondering at which point the Power Cable should go in. Just before the Restoring Process in iTunes?

Apple support suggest USB only when restoring to ATV2 Factory settings, UNTIL restoring in itunes Then plug in the power cable.

just wondering your thoughts on this.

I can restore to factory settings, but am getting errors w/ this new firmware (21, 1600, 1611, 1602)

    Thanks!

  • @Javashakes02 the power cable's purpose in the jailbreak process is only to provide power after you unplug the micro USB cable so you can plug in the HDMI cable. In other words, you really only need to plug in the power cable when performing a tethered boot. no power cable = no power once the usb is unplugged.

  • Great, best video i Have seen on youtube.

  • Is it normal for Seas0npass to prompt for my password the first time I launch it?

  • I work for Apple and you are in deep shit.

  • Awesome tutorial, great combo of text instructions, pics of the actual device and when to plug/unplug (missing in all the other tutorials i looked at) and a good quality screencast. People should be taking notes, quality work!
