From the timeless album Mother Lode
For me this album is their finest, the most complete album in musical sense, the songstructures and arrangements are complex, unusual and very well worked out.

  • my favorite song from my favorite group from the 70's. Great solo work ono the parts of Jimmy Messina (guitar) and Jon Clarke I think on Sax. It could also have been Al Garth on sax, but I believe it was Clarke.

  • @lyrics47 The inlay of the cd says: violin and horns Al Garth and flute and horns Jon Clarke, so both is possible.

Nice playing of Jim Messina also, nice you appreciate this music; after 35 years of playing this cd it's still beautiful.

  • The album was prophetic, as I am now living in the Mother Lode region of the Sierra Madres....still listening to the best music ever created, and this is the best cut imaginable by the human soul. A friend gave a Mother Lode tape to me, and I listened to it first on the way to see my wife to be for our first Christmas together. This is our music, and this cut is her love. To all who thrive to this music, as I do....Eyes Skyward

  • Bought this album back in 1974. Wore it out, bought another one, wore it out again, bought the CD. This song is one of my all time favorites. In my book, one of the best guitar and Sax solos I've ever heard.

  • takes me back... timeless... one of my favorites... beautimous

  • This is an amazing, priceless production! It totally sets me back wishing i could be there again!!

  • @foggy4180 Totally agree..still one that holds the same today as it did in 1974..still blows me away..WOW !! Thanks for posting..

  • @foggy4180 I bought Mother Lode when it debuted in '74. I wore it out. It still stands as my favorite CD of all time today. Nice to know there are others who believe the same.

  • @foggy4180 appreciate doesn't even come close to describing it. I bought Mother Lode when it was first released in 1974. I wore it out. I must have purchased it on vinyl 11 or 12 times. I've had it on CD since it was released. I have over 300 CD's by the majority of great artists from the 60's, 70,s and 80's and to this day it stands as my favorite album of all time. Nice to kow I'm not alone.
