Seems to me you've just proven my point. And yes it is called multi-touch, and yes iPhone was the first to introduce it on such a wide scale in a mobile phone device. Regardless of how much new stuff they shelled out (which I agree wasn't much), the fact still remains that everyone else is just following their example.
