Artist: Extol
Song: Paradigms
Album: Synergy

Lyrics:
The worship of creation
Seeming endless
But it will end
And every knee shall bow

Thoughts of a coincidental existence
And a futureless world corrodes into the
Spinal chord of the narcissistic man
A paradigm shift for worse
My ego is my god
Given authority by the enlightenment
Of science,
The enlightenment of the age of freedom
Freedom - the name in which we legalize all
The name in which we tolerate all

Credibility for truth, image for substance
Weakness and failure
- unbearable elements in life
Subtly opposed through an endless flow of
Constantly replaced trends, neither allowed
To mature nor to fade
The surroundings,
A mirror reflecting the signals
Of admiration that makes my identity
A constant egocentricity providing a
Purging of anything threatening popularity

The peak of this shallowness
Displayed by the so-called stars
In their quest for self-actualisation
This beautiful people experiencing
The illusion of narcissistic prosperity,
Uncritically and boundlessly admired,
Simply for their own sake

  • I want their drummer back in a band like this. Where are you Dave!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @OnTheBlocksMedia He is in another band actually. They're called Twisted Into Form, check it out. ; )

  • @anesthetize7 Unfortunately they appear to be inactive. Dave's new band just doesn't utilize his talents enough in my opinion. They are called Doctor Midnight & The Mercy Cult.

  • @OnTheBlocksMedia That's a shame. There's also Mantric, which has Extol members in it if I'm right. And Benea Reach. Both bands are awesome in my opnion! But I don't think Dave plays in either of these bands.

  • @DimmuBorgir666NL This is progressive thrash metal, not black metal.

  • extols skills arent in the MAB or Kirk hammett style guitar licks...its more in the time signature and syncopation of the riffs...and trust me its harder to play a bunch of power chords in 9/16 then play a sweeped minor chord in 4/4...

for those not good with music 9/16 means that there are 9 beats per measure and the 16th note gets the beat...try counting that....

  • @anesthetize7 I believe that both the lead singer and two guitarists from Extol are in Mantric.

  • @DimmuBorgir666NL Hurrrrr durrrrrrrrrrrrrr

  • @OnTheBlocksMedia He also drums in a band called Insection, they have 3 songs on their Facebook profile. They sounds quite like Extol actually.

  • @anesthetize7 I like Mantric. Good drummer in that one. Dave is not in either band although Christer was in Benea for a short time.

  • @electroman51 well Scrape the Surface on this album is pretty black metal. but i wouldn't call it "unblack metal", id just call it "black metal".

in my opinion, black metal is about the sound, not the message. but many famous black metal musicians and fans would disagree

  • @DimmuBorgir666NL This > Black Metal
