Hey. how do you teach your bird to pick the ball up? i got 2 cockatiels, ones only 7 weeks old, 8 weeks on thursday. he won't go near the ball lol
-
a nice party trick, but as a person who has had quite a few cockatiels over the years, these birds are here to be our companions and we their guardians....instead of in this case they being here to train to go through hoops - this isn't causing the bird to think...all the bird has learnt is "if i go through all these hoops with this ball, I'll get a seed if I'm lucky" -
he's a bird FFS, please let him behave like one !

Hi, I train my bird about 3 times in a day and about 15 to 20 mints each time. The point is dont make the bird get bored of training, keep the bird interested in training just like playing time for them. Hope that helps :)

I started to train my bird when he was 2 and a half months old rite after he's fully weaned. it all started from Clicker Target training and everything will come along...
Patience, lots of Treats and a Clicker is a must :)
