This pair of Lorquin's Admiral Butterflies are starting their life cycle all over again. They were suprisingly cooperative in allowing me to film them very close-up. Enjoy the show in full screen HD for best detail and clarity!
I'm sure they're plenty embarrassed, but they can't fly so well when they're hooked together like that so they pretty much have to put up with whatever happens until happy time is over. :-) They best hope the paparazzi doesn't show up too!!
Wow.. very lucky .. I love those moments of pure chance or when you have synchronicities... you know your in the right place right time ..and its where your meant to be .. xxx
In all the years I'd seen these in the wild, this is the first time I'd even see them mating. It was also the first time I'd taken my HD camera out into this area.
These two flew down from somewhere in the trees overhead and landed right in front of me, as if to say "HEY- look at us! We want to be on TV!"
They were very approachable and happily posed for lots of video closeups. Quite the show! :-)
@hurricanejones1 looks like the photographer didn't wait until it was over

I was lucky to get this shot - these butterflies aren't normally seen while mating... Glad I had my camera with me on this outing! :-)
