it's "DO mastered CDs really suck"...

Many of the original masters were done from TAPE. todays masters come from cd's or digital files. Also the engineers re getting paid to do something so they start throwing on plugins and processors. Also there used to be mastering guys who mastered for years and years. like Dick Charles in new york. Now they are gone. so it is an experience issue as well.

@MrDemilord Yeh thats because the original 80s cd masters were quite shocking and the new ones are really good. But I hate remasters for the sake of loudness such as The Offsprings Smash which has heaps of clipping.
Anyone know a website that compares the original to remaster so we know which one to buy

@akumaquik Me too.. Althrough the new remastered cds of the beatles shows they are capable of improving sound quality without brickwalling it
