Bob Dorn of Circle D Ranch LLC, Dallas TX is shown training a 2 year old Half Arabian Half-American Paint Horse Filly. This filly had no prior experience with wearing a bit or riding under saddle. Work was done in a round pen and indoor arena in the first 2 sessions. The western style of training than continued outdoors with the final test ride at about 20 sessions going out on the road with cars and dogs. All work was done only at a walk and trot for short duration due to her age. The filly wore a snaffle bit and at no time was any type of tie down or martingale used. You can tell from the video that she kept a happy, willing and calm attutude throughout all of the sessions. Although this filly is shown being initially started Western, she easily has accepted the English saddle and is continuing to learn to be a very versatile athlete. Thanks to Cross Timbers Arabians and Pintos for the use of their 2 year old filly, Kachina Sky Bars CTA. http://CTarabians.com . They are breeders of World, National and International Champion Pinto Arabian horses.
