@ladygeeable where do you trace origins of Shangaan music?Southern Africa duh!!!this is mzansi music at its best and if you want to discuss its market share, blah blah blah, then this is no platform for that!just enjoy the music and stop tryin to pick holes at what the music is and isn't!otherwise you offend die-hard fans like myself and others by posting all these petty little comments that don't have any substance!shut up or put up,period!
I use to be liking South African music very much from Sudan, until i came to the united stated of America and end up missing the musics until recently i have re track my way back to South Africa. Nostalgia -
what sexy natural rhythm the women had.....I used to work at the buford hwy farmers market and some of the african people that would come through would ask where I was from and I was say "Columbus,Georgia" and they would say that I looked like I was from Ghana....Ive been checking out some of the african music to branch out from my admiration with Prince and funk music. I could do something with the rhythm guitars that are in african music.
Uyazi mina ngakhula ngidhlala isinjonjo wena! Its more of legs than the waist, you know what I mean...However, having played the video over and over again, I totally agree with you. Its 200% Shangaan. Amankazana were just expressing themselves freely! Ungathi luvhevhani......I like the masquerade too!! very creative choreographic stuff.
in my view, this is not quite "zansi" type or down south type of music....you know what I mean..the dance is a bit? you see what Im saying..but on the positive its different and still entertaining and will still attract a percentage on the market.
I love me african Music and dancing....Nothing can top it
