This is the best engine iv made so far. it does have a lot of friction but it still runs great! more refining is needed but production models would be better.

  • How much heavy is the flywheel? thanks.

  • @asdfkjaskldalsdfa

The flywheel is very light, just a plastic wheel from a toddler's bicycle!

  • do you need alot of machinery for this?

  • @TheSquirrel212

Hi. Not at all. the whole point was to make these engines very easily, as a kit so that anyone can make it. however i have used some higher wattage soldering gun for making the fins, rest is all simple machinary, drill machine, hack-saw, etc...

  • @subirbhaduri I dont have a vertical drill only a normal one

  • @TheSquirrel212

HI. do not worry, that the normal drill will do. i do not have any plans or drawings else i would have shared it with you...

  • hi great work i too am making one and will soon post it.

  • hey brother plz help me.

actualy i want to build a sterling engine 4 my third year project bt i dnt know frm where 2 start.plz help me

i knw almost every theoritical thing abt stirling engines...........

  • By the way, I have built a gamma ultra LTD, power stroke is only 4 mm, displacer stroke is 6 mm.

  • Maybe you can try to increase the diameter of the cilinder. The longer stroke increase the angle of attack of the forces: more side force = more friction and less efficiency.

But nevertheless, building a beta is much more challenge, than a gamma.
