One needs to remember this is the lady that started Star Trek. Not sure why the show was cancelled so quickly. Maybe people kind of forgot the legend Lucille Ball was and how beautiful she was when she was younger.

The great Lucille Ball was ill served by the premise of this show. Liz Smith the great NY columnist suggested the Life With Lucy show should have been about a smart business woman who could cut someone dead with a withering look. That that the real Lucille Ball...! Lucy Ricardo was pure inventive acting as was the Lucy Carter of Here's Lucy.

Lucille Ball, like Bette Davis, loved working. How could she hate it? This series just could have a been dramedy because she was good at drama, but instead they went with gag reels that even for people who are not fit physical comedy like Gale Gordon or Lucille Ball at this time. What kind of sucks is that the material she was given was not the typical Lucy standard of the 50s-70s comedy caliber.
