Unloading the raku kiln. These cups have a white crackle glaze on them so we like to sprinkle them with sawdust during post firing reduction to intensify the crackles.

  • @Marihani depending on the type of raku glaze you use, it depends on the result. Just today, I made up some Bright Buff glaze for raku, and when you want a crackled appearance, you have to wait for the pot to catch the sawdust or paper (I use paper) to catch on fire, then either add more on top, or just cover it after the fire lights.

  • I learned to add sawdust straight away. Why do you wait to add it?

    I hope following vids show the finishing and final result of these pots! Love it so far!
