The richest race of the three stakes run at Remington on May 20 was the Grade 1, $104,760 Bank of America Oklahoma Championship. Illegal Memories pulled away to win by a length in the 440-yard event.
Owned by Tim Lange and Charlie Forbes of Bastrop, Texas and trained by Heath Taylor, Illegal Memories moved out to a commanding lead halfway through the race under G.R. Carter. The 4-year-old Texas-bred pulled away from Bannow Bay and Trisk in the decisive triumph, stopping the clock in 21.17 seconds.
The win was the fifth from 13 career attempts by Illegal Memories, a gelded son of Illegal Runaway from the Leaving Memories mare Good Ole Memories. He earned $48,102 for the score, giving him a career bankroll of $656,415. The Oklahoma Championship was his first win at Remington Park.
