  • Toms a Pimp

  • TJ is one COOL mother fucker.

  • @Tsirjones might be, but theres a difference between "greatest white soul singer" and "greatest soul singer". and ruth brown very well just might have quoted tom jones. but it doesnt matter really. to me tom jones aint the greatest soul singer, white or black, not even close. but how would u measure soul? its just a matter of opinion and personal taste.

  • @pearsnockie Wasnt it Ruth Brown who verified that Otis called him greatest white soul singer.. I remember reading so. Wilson said very kind of words about Tom also..

  • The Classiest version of Hard to Handle - Tom Jones you've proven that you really are the "god of Coolness" :-)

  • @wccoope yea u are right with that. but then there are 2 things one should consider: 1. there can't be 4 or 5 greatest soul singers in the world, all declared king by mr. otis redding. and 2. the only account which states that otis redding called tom jones the greatest soul singer in the world comes from tom jones... but who cares, i bet they got along with each other greatly..

  • @pearsnockie I am sure he was a very polite and warm hearted man, but your post suggests or implies that by "just" being polite and warm hearted, Otis was lying to people when he complimented other singers and did not mean it. I am not sure you have the right to speak for a dead man in that fashion. You cannot know what was in the man's heart when he said those things. He may have been telling the truth and meant it. I say let's take that great man at his word.

  • @wccoope but otis was just very polite and warm hearted... he said the same thing about eric burdon and several other people..

  • class!

  • this concert is maybe of 2000 or 2001....
