This is me playing an instrumental version of Crucify my love on the piano. I haven't used partitures (I have learned it hearing the song). This is actually one of my favourite ballads from X-Japan.

i dont understand. how did you play without the notes first? you only heard the song and you could play it?? wow!! how do you do that...! just hearing the song.. you know the notes, right? im curious. i would like to do some of that myself..

Well, it's just about having enough hearing capability for discerning the melody and harmony of the song. It's something I can do since I was 7 years old (when I began playing the piano). Of course, now I can play a lot more difficult things, but the esscence is the same.

Just try getting the notes out of what you hear.

I didn't use any scores, everything by ear.

I see.. i can do it for the right hand, but the difficulty lies in the left hand, since its accompaniment and seldom melody. Never quite attempted this before though. when you listen to a song, you can tell the notes that are being played? Whenever i start on a new song i always have the notes before me. you must be a great pianist..! not many people have the ability. :)
