I Am Matthewian: Alberta Understudy Audition

I try my hand at auditioning for my home province of Alberta. I didn't do a hell of a lot of research to be honest, I just wrote whatever came into my head. And I tried sounding as obnoxious as I could, so I'm very sorry if anyone feels insulted or think I'm not covering enough. I say a lot of crap about Alberta (and as an Edmontonian a LOT of crap about Calgary) but I do love this province. There are lots of ways we can be better, but there are lots of things we should be proud of too.
And I sincerely apologize to francophones everywhere, ESPECIALLY Albertan francophones. ^^;

To be honest my gross misjudgment of you has been much on my mind these past few days. I am actually still a little surprised at your forgiveness, as I am sad to say, had our positions been reversed I somewhat doubt i would have been so cordial. your restraint is admirable. Not to belabor a point but I really AM sorry. By the way-fun fact you might find amusing- since deregulation, Alberta has the largest selection of domestic and imported alcohols (particularly beer) in all of North America!

@CardamonGH I'd be lying if I said it hasn't been on my mind as well, haha. I guess I find it hard to be defensive because I think the opinion you expressed was a valid one. I understand what it's like to live in this province and I know the frustration that comes with it. (I live in the country and every time a quad drives by I want to puncture their tires...) I just hope that I can get good enough at satire to change people's minds. Once again, I accept your apology. And I didn't know that! XD

@CardamonGH (Ran out of space) On that note, if there is anything that you can think of that would make my audition a little better and more entertaining for you (It is a satire after all) please don't hesitate to let me know. My job is to play Alberta true to his stereotypes but also to put a positive spin on him (I know, living in this province, it's very difficult sometimes...) Once again I want to thank you for your comments; your apologies were extremely mature despite my audition.

Thank you for the good grace of overlooking my utter oafishness. For the record I think it shows great strength of character on your part to take the harder stand of defending our province ( flaws and all) amidst some of the many criticisms that some individuals of our population seem to leave us open to. I am aware, incidentally of the palpable irony of that statement, given my behavior. I always wondered what comeuppance felt like. Now I know.

@CardamonGH Whoa, that first comment made my ears burn! But I accept your apology. Despite the things you said I am very grateful for your comments. I honestly didn't think anyone would take it that seriously... Actually, one of the judges thought I was too critical of the other provinces. I was embarrassed, but I thought my interpretation was accurate (if a little soft!) A lot of my friends want to move out of province too, but I kind of feel if I do that there won't be any decent people left!

Next time I feel strongly about a video I feel strongly about I should probably read what you've written first before posting a comment (my bad) To bad there isn't a funtion to unpost. However if I ever do meet somebody who ACTUALLY holds those opinions, I would not hesitate to punch them in the face!
