My grandpa's 1958 Rolex Oyster Perpetual is still keeping time 53 years later. Slide rules use a seventeenth century design, and can still perform calculations today. That is because they are simple machines that work simply. When you bring in the all-singing all-dancing tech, you just introduce more things to break. If you dont believe me, just ask the Russians. They can keep their country going on 1950s technology. Why cant we Americans do the same?
