Cyndi Lauper invites AS THE WORLD TURNS viewers to come "Into the Nightlife," as she performs the first single from her new album Bring You To The Brink and a stirring rendition of her signature song, "True Colors," on the July 3 episode. "She's doing a benefit in between her shows in New York and Chicago, so she made a little pit stop in Oakdale," teases Jake Silbermann (Noah).

In her Oakdale cameo, Lauper won't just be singing. She will also share scenes with Jake Silbermann (Noah Mayer) and Van Hansis (Luke Snyder). Lauper muses that she will do whatever it takes to make sure that "Nuke" is reunited.

Robert Calhoun, best known to soap fans for his runs as Executive Producer at AS THE WORLD TURNS and GUIDING LIGHT has passed away. He died of lung cancer in New York on May 24th at age 77. Calhoun won a 1987 Daytime Emmy Award for producing AS THE WORLD TURNS and was nominated for five more Emmys as a producer and two as a director. His early work in the theater included a stint as production
supervisor for Eva Le Gallienne's National Repertory Theater, during productions of Arthur Miller's "The Crucible" and Anton Chekhov's "The Seagull," where he met his lifelong partner, the actor Farley Granger, in 1963.
He is survived by Granger, two brothers and a sister.

Emmy nominee Jesse Lee Soffer (ex-Will) may be making an Oakdale comeback, (for two episodes) according to Soap Opera Weekly. The soap insider tells its readers that Will is expected back to help comfort his dying mother, Barbara, Colleen Zenk Pinter (Babs).

Thanks for posting, though I think there were a few seconds missed on the phone when Noah was telling Luke not to come to the police station. I like the story, myself. I'm glad for the break up and I kinda want Luke to move on and Noah to feel like he's missing something. Hee. (o: Thanks again!
