HAHA at the guy running 160 on his Magna. Not trying to start a fight but what mods did you have on that bike exactly? If you don't say a freaking GIGANTIC turbo or supercharger then your lying. Honda magnas are quick for a cruiser but ANY modern 600cc sportbike will out run them so bad it wouldn't even be funny.

@bradbyars who says he is running 160?? he has had it to 140 topped out plus wen it came out even if it was 200 years ago it was the fasted bike at the time.. and yea a 600 could with good rider but normally the idiots who buy a 600 got it to pick up chicks and cant ride plus who will get the launch?? the cruiser and 600 guy will b afraid to pull its little tire up

John38special said it on this page a few posts down. I owned a magna. Loved it. It was a quick bike. Even 140 is a stretch, MAYBE not impossible but it would take a long straight to get a stock magna up to that speed. Can't argue about dopes buying sportbikes but idiots are everywhere. These new 600's are crazy fast and should not be considered learner bikes. Way to much power and acceleration in the hands of unskilled riders. To me its idiotic to buy a harley davidson. They are junk.

@bradbyars guess there is something we can agree on haha.. and yes ur right 600 are getting pretty quick for stock.. guess thats why we leave those to the kids and we step up to our 1000s.. but as long as ur knees are in the breeze thats what we are about

The V-65 Magna had an 1098 cc engine rated at 116 HP at the flywheel. My 1986 model on a frame dyno produced 106 hp at the rear wheel at 8800 RPM. The mathematical design top speed was 173 mph and I ran through a speed trap at a dragstrip at 142 mph in fifth gear. It has a 6 speed transmission.

I own a '85 V65 Magna and I love the acceleration, and though I'm quite certain I can spank most any Harley I come across, there are still many things I love about a Harley. They are apples and oranges really, and I for one like both apples and oranges!

@bradbyars Agreed. But the Magna"s are pure vintage excellence... if your lucky enough to own a sweet one! You can keep the new CHACHI stuff.

@bradbyars i have a v65 magna and ive had it burryed at 160 and all it has is fuel jets in the carbs so its very possible

The V65 had a top speed of 165,the harly sportster is depending on what year it is 95-105mph,I rode a 1986 V65 and it could cruise at 120mph no problem,the harley isn't even close.The V65 was rated at 115HP and the harley at 49-59HP.

The Honda will walk all over the Harley.

I wouldnt buy a harley to race people. I have a GSXR 750 and it is scarey fast. But it will get you killed fast too.

@LordSamuelJ i own a 1984 v65 sabre its fast i road a 2009 r6 its scary fast (sabre1100=600lbs+106hp) (r6=400lbs+120hp+newer tech) eh think about it

@series1riv yah i have a sabre now no fairing but i took it on the free way with a gsxr and saw 150 and probably could of done more

I don't really respond to these videos, but that said, like I read if you havn't driven a V65 than don't comment. I bought one brand new in 83 and now many years later I got another and they are still an extreamly FAST bike. I pull away from bikes of all kinds like a joke.
