Well my Dad got morphine even though the Dr KNEW it would kill him and a sign was put above his bed not to. I was gone a few hours after being there 24 hours a day for five days. What did they give him? Morphine, the only time that I was gone, just hours before he was to go home. He lived 8 more months because I got to the hospital in time, but not a quality life. Don't ever leave a loved one in the hospital alone, ever. At any age. There really is a conspiracy! My poor sweet Dad...

@bshattucknh oh my GOD, I am so sorry for you. My mom had her gall bladder removed. After the operation, a nurse came into her room to give her morphine. My mom told the nurse she does NOT want morphine because she is not in any pain at all. The nurse told her morphine would not hurt her. He gave her morphine even though she told the nurse she didn't want morphine because she was not in any pain. So the incompetent nurse ignored my mom's request. My mom got so sick, she vomited...
