Is protesting a waste of time?

If everyone spent 1 minute protesting for every minute they spent b*tching on the Internet, then we would've accomplished 100x more than we already have.
Think of it this way: Is it easier to ignore 100 people holding signs on the street corner, or to ignore 1,000 people whining on some obscure internet forum?

i have to agree. if you wanna get put on a surveilence list by the local yocals, then, go wave signs!

Did it? I sure didn't see that it made much difference.

What is the point? Attention or having power to change things?
Get on local school boards and run for local races, then move up through the party. Become the local precinct chairman and on state convention to vote for party platforms. - This happened in Texas with the religious right in the past and they are now ensconced. Remember where GWB came from? -- Ron Paulers are trying to move into local politics and could use the help! Who is the next Ron Paul, as he is old. Young folks? It's you!

civil disobedience is way more effective than holding signs.

#3) So protest, write letters, vote, run for office, get on the central committees, start a militia, whatever it takes to roll back BIG GOVERNMENT and take the country back to its founding principles.

#2) Protesting isn't totally useless. Its is a good entry point and a place to learn more and make those all important face-to face connections. It also generates press, which is important in the war of words and ideas. Obviously, if there was one thing that eally worked all the time, we would all be doing that one thing. I think everything works to some degree, and to "get 'er done" we need to use everything in the tool box.

#1) George's famous baklava is awesome! Really moist, flavored with cloves and cinnamon, its dangerous! Have someone with you when you open it, or you may finish them by yourself!

Terrin, you're further down the path than the majority. I compare the "awakening" to the 5 steps of grieving. The final step being acceptance that our republic is truly shattered due to our own neglect. We, as individuals must take personal responsibility for that and learn from our errors. Once we do this and embrace freedom & liberty, we will fumble through, as our forefathers did. We will do what ever needs to be done, because we may not love our govt, but we do love our country. JMO

that never works...

thank you for keeping us up to date. Protesting would probably only get you pokey time, unless you were good enough to get a large following. Avoid cheap hookers and homeless to help you out. Tea Parties seem a good bet! You must have a good grass root following. Nothing seems to make the point like the guns the opposition has, when they are telling you where you can stand and what you can say. Some democracy we have. Vote? They are all the same side of a coin you flip anymore.
good work using natural sound...
too much panning tho

Thanks dave, I shot this about 6 months ago, I think I am getting better, because I agree too much panning, and I got a really nice mic now, but it is too quite in this. I will have to figure it all out. As always thanks for your advice!
