Of course, Mormons do not want anyone to wonder or ponder on whether Mormons are Christians or not. Nor would they want anyone to read genuine histories of the Mormon church or to do either studying or research on religious theology as it relates to Mormonism or Christianity. One may wonder if that may be because the answer that any analytical, rational person will arrive at will not be one that the Mormons will like ... at all.
Well spoken and Christ dividing the Jews was seen hundreds, if not a thousand, years before even his birth. See Isaiah here:
14 And he shall be for a sanctuary; but for a stone of stumbling and for a rock of offence to both the houses of Israel, for a gin and for a snare to the inhabitants of Jerusalem.
15 And many among them shall stumble, and fall, and be broken, and be snared, and be taken.
Well, with Christ there became a division of the Jews. There were those that believed in him and those that did not. But prior to his Mortal Ministry they all believed in his coming. Does this mean that Christ divided the believers? No, It only means that he came to establish his church, to clarify his teachings and to preform the atonement and resurrection. He has always asked that we come unto him. Just as he did then, he does now through his living prophets ordained by his holy priesthood.
Does anything this man says contradict the scriptures? I didn't hear anything other than that which the ancient Apostles also testified of in their writings. I can't understand why people have to argue over other's beliefs. Is that what Christ would want us to do? Doesn't it seem more like Satan to divide the believers?
I reflected on it again and again, knowing that if any person needed wisdom from God, I did; for how to act I did not know, and unless I could get more wisdom than I then had, I would never know; for the teachers of religion of the different sects understood the same passages of scripture so differently as to destroy all confidence in settling the question by an appeal to the Bible.
Please stop using the Bible to work personal angles by discrediting it at the same time.
Same bible, but you have discredited its teachings because of a personal bias and have chosen to believe and interpret the passages to work in your advantage. This is why there was a need for a restoration.
1 God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets,
2 Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;
3 Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;
It blows me away that people study the bible and use its teachings to attempt to disprove other beliefs that are found in the same bible. In Hebrews it reads the following,
Jesus is God, he is not a creation, he is eternal. John 8:58 Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am. John 1:1-18 The Word (Jesus) Became Flesh, Colossians 1:15-17 The Supremacy of Christ
God is our only savior (Isaiah 43:11,Jude 1:12,Titus 2:10,1 Timothy 4:10),(1 John 4:14,2 Peter 3:18,John 4:42,Titus 1:4) Jesus is sent as our savior, thus Jesus is God, God is Jesus.
