an unlicensed Game Boy Color Digimon RPG.

I assume its by Vast Fame because it uses their engine (reused in Pokemon Ruby) and at least some of their music. but there are a few weird/lazy things that I wouldnt expect from them, like how the intro music glitches at the start, (plus that and the title screen don't sound like their usual work), the main character sprite looks nothing like his portrait, the first two towns (at least - havent played any further yet) use the exact same tileset and music. and you can just run straight to the gym (or whatever the digimon equivalent is) in each town without doing anything else. graphics are generally pretty good though, except the title logo, which is kinda cheap looking.

this is from my 12 in 1 but there was a single cart release too, and I've definitely seen an English version somewhere. can't remember if its called Digimon Pocket or Digital Monster(s) Pocket but it is out there.

  • The start sound is the same from other Vast Fame strategy games.

    WIIIIAWWW!

  • @SithasUl I believe I have it actualy, I played it on vba a longggg time ago, it's prone to occasionally crasshing

  • This is definitely a hack of Pokemon Ruby (or vice-versa). The battle music glitches from the exact same sound effect in Pokemon Ruby; I just lucked out in my video. The intro has the same sound engine, though it does sound differently composed compared to their usual work...

  • OK, Digimon 3 is definitely the basis for this... that, or vice versa. I just realized that the Game Over screen of Digimon 3 plays the opening theme from Digimon Pocket.

  • I love how the "Digimon" at 4:19 looks more like Blinky from Pac-Man. XD Then again, I haven't actually watched the show in ages . XP

  • And that would be where I'd heard it-- the tune inside the house/first battle is also from Digimon 3. Which also has a similar battle UI, but not an identical one.
