"CITIUS, ALTIUS, FORTIUS"
This is the Olympic Motto which means Faster, Higher, Stronger. Meanwhile, in our neck of the woods, here in LA Land, particularly APO GLA, Slower, Lower, Weaker may be the case. But seriously, the APO GLA 2007 Familympics kicked off last April 28, 2007 at the Chevy Chase Recreational Park and began with a simple mini program emceed by the Overall Sports Chairman Bro. Rodney Rafallo.
The most important lessons we will have to learn from this endeavor is how to be not only a gracious winner but also gracious in defeat as well. Competition will bring out the best(and worst) in us. Our greatest glory is not in never failing, but in rising each and every time we fail. These games gives us the opportunity to test ourselves mentally, physically and emotionally in a way no other aspect in life can. At the end of the day, when all the dust has cleared, hopefully, these games serve it's purpose of fostering our friendship, developing our leadership skills while serving our personal longevity.
