Shark Fishing Florida

50 inch Black tip shark caught on a whiting head about 50 to 70 yards into the surf. I release him in about 2 minutes so he isn't out of the water for very long. He swims away effortlessly.

XD not exactly the smartest idea to wade into the water where there is a shark. Usually you just pull him up on shore when there is a big wave. Nice fish though and good job its good to see people who treat these guys with respect. Btw what kind of rod is that? And what bait did you use?

@sdpy15 The water was pretty clear and when that wave came and i couldnt see him i backed out pretty fast. Any way, enough excuses... I was using an Eagle Claw Surf Beast rod and reel combo from Bluewater Outriggers. I was using a whiting head (about 3.5 inches long) with an 8 ought circle hook.

@TOKingfilms it was 20 pound monofilament as the main line and 40 pound wire to the hook to the shark wouldn't bite me off. I wasn't expecting a shark of that size! I had the drag set low. That is why it took so long

Haha I was out sitting in a line up and one of these but maybe just a 4 foot one bit my leg haha 15 stocked in all man I'd like to catch one to see the beauty of it then let him back of course
