What you need is a new 72 pin connector. I just got an NES for Christmas and it some problems at first. But now it works perfectly. 72 pin conectors don't even cost that much.

Oh, and I suggest getting Rad Racer. I suggest getting that game, it's one of my favorites.

But my all-time favorite is Kirby's Adventure. If you haven't gotten that, you MUST, it's like the best NES game there is.

It was released in 1985. As many have others have said, pin connector is the problem. So if any of you peeps here plan to purchase one, like I did, make sure the 72 pin connector is already replaced.

But it may not completely be the pins. Sometimes you do have to just wiggle the game a lot, or clean the game with a qtip and alcohol, which is how I got a pawn shop to work.
