Parents Campaign for Bald Barbies to Fight Cancer

Pressure is building on Mattel to produce a bald Barbie doll that looks like girls who've suffered hair loss during chemotherapy. A campaign started by two parents right before Christmas accelerated with tens of thousands of supporters liking a Bald Barbie page on Facebook. Tim Minton says Barbie's been re-imagined before.

I dont like this idea...i dont really think it helps little kids with hairloss because they are bald and getting a bald barbie will only depress them more...isnt the whole idea of having barbies is to play with their hair?Getting a barbie with hair gives them hope that one day they will also regain their hair back :)

thank you so much for putting this on here. jane has been diligent in trying to get mattel to get the doll made. unfortunately, they said that they don't take ideas from just anyone. if everyone that sees this goes to jane's fb account---beautiful and bald barbie! let's see if we can get it made!-----and likes it, maybe mattel will take another look. and just so you all know, jane is still fighting her cancer, and refuses to give up or give in.
