Cat's are awesome but I bet using an STX Quadtrac would speed this process up and cost less.

Does it really slide better on sledge than its own wheels? How long does the 65km take and how much does towing cost to truckers?

Everything comes with a boat to Svabard. It's thick ice in the fjord outside the Svea where the mine is located. And there is no road access between the locations. The trip took about 12 hours.

Whats the white box on the roof of the Dozer at about 1:15?

@ToonandBBfan There is emergency equipment box. It is ca.65 km to drive one way. It is very cold and windy on Svalbard. Weather can change quickly. It can be minus 40 degrees Celsius, gale and storm. If the machine stops or there is bad weather, we have what we need and survive until help comes. Methylated spirit burner, blanket, food, etc. .. We also have a gun with us because of polar bears.
