That must have been both a great privilege and great fun.
I used to ring the bell for chapel, just a small bell on a rope, but there is a wonderful feeling from ringing bells.
Most people don't seem to realize what an art bell ringing is, it isn't simply a matter of pulling the right ropes in the right order.
