A project I directed and acted in for a class. Was mostly just me experimenting with greenscreen work and selective color. Some of it works, some of it doesn't. should have spent more time cutting, it's poorly cut. But not bad for having done it all in one day and having a cold!

  • Just an FYI, this was edited using final cut AND After Effects. Just using the "leave color" effect doesn't work. There are a lot of elements at play to get this effect to work correctly. High contrast lighting is important. Keeping the colors far enough apart that they don't bleed together. The shades of the color. It becomes complicated very fast and will still require a good deal of masking to get it to work right. It's a tedious process and requires some planning.

  • where you got the backround from?

  • @LiiLBg I made it using images that I layered together.

  • @rianu images from the sin city movie?

  • @LiiLBg Just stock photos of a city and a rooftop. The idea was to replicate that scene, so I had some photos of a cit and walkways and literally created the set from those images. The railing was also a separate image.

  • and how did you turn them white for a moment?

  • @BeotchBOY since this was shot on green screen I had already keyed them out of the background, so it was as simple as pushing the blacks to white.

  • this was quite nice, although not really awesome, for instance in some shots her faced is a little to bright. but on how you recreated the sin city scene, not bad at all dude ;)

  • Amazing really amazing

  • you're not far off... uping your bit per channel to 32 and try not to be too harsh with your roll back... its causing harsh haloing, but your deffo on the right track man good work! =]

  • I like the last line

  • Visually, it was great. Audio was a bit off, and acting, well, the clip obviously isn't trying to show that off, so who cares? I liked it though. Now, I have to go watch Sin City

  • cool

  • Good job, but I wish the score played in the back round.

  • can you please make tutorial for this

  • @energy333air I agree totally. The visual aspect is pretty good if the audio was on the same level you'd have a great clip.

  • The important thing is that you tried.
