Hieromonk Seraphim (Rose), né Eugene Dennis Rose (August 13, 1934-September 2, 1982) was a hieromonk of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside Russia in the United States, whose writings have helped spread Orthodox Christianity throughout modern America and the West and are also quite popular in Russia. Although not formally glorified (canonized), he is (some say prematurely) celebrated by some Orthodox Christians as a saint in iconography, liturgy, and prayer...

  • @PianoMelodies

I would love to ask about your experiences with Fr. Seraphim!

  • Nice singing!!

  • What would legitimately be called "Orthodox" as well, existed in the ancient Celtic Christian Church prior to 664 AD, and the Tudors aside, remnants of Orthodoxy exist throughout the Anglican Communion worldwide, in practice and belief.

There are essentially three branches of early Christianity: Rome, Eastern Orthodox/Coptic and Anglican (established in the later half of the first century).

  • lovely singing and simple but profound faith and worship

  • @yekdeli No problem! Glad to help! :) Be sure to check Archbishop Lazar's where you can read about continued discussions on the neo-Gnostic Toll-House Cult in the Orthodox Church. In fact for everyone watching these videos or reading Fr. Seraphim's work should see what our beloved Orthodox Church actually follows.

  • Among the images of the Gospel the Church very often reminds us of the parable of the Prodigal Son, and one week in the yearly cycle of Church services is entirely devoted to this remembrance, so that we might know the limitless love of God and the fact that the sincere, contrite, tearful repentance of a believing man overcomes all the obstacles and all the tollhouses on the path to the Heavenly Father.

  • @Chad01234 I frankly was only responding to the original poster because he called me a liar. Thanks for the information though.

  • We passed by and put them to shame. The net was rent, and we were delivered. Blessed is God Who did not give us as a prey to them" (St. John Chrysostom, Homily 2, "On Remembering the Dead").

  • The holy angels peacefully separated us from our bodies, and having good guides, we went without harm past the powers of the air. The evil spirits did not find in us what they were seeking; they did not notice what they wished to put to shame; seeing an immaculate soul, they were ashamed; seeing an undefiled tongue, they were silent.
