@brazilianjiujitsupr Andre was coached by him(and Terere) up until brown belt so he knew all the defenses already. He trained them literally everyday. If u watch Andre in absolute divisions he uses turtle techniques when the guy is much bigger than him Terere used it too. Everyone who trained with or under Telles uses it. Cobrinha, Sergio Moares, Leo Viera, Terere, Galvao the list goes on. It just fits into their games differently than it fits into his.

@brazilianjiujitsupr Telles has beaten many high level BJJ blackbelts with his turtle game. Everyone gets submitted from time to time.

You should've seen Andre Galvao killing Telle on gi's turtle position, never gave him a chance to work his turtle offensive techniques. Don't you ever give your back to a high leveled BJJ fighter, you'll get busted.
-
i dont get this. wont people easily just take your back?

Wow! Stylistically, he is much like me (just a lot better). I use the turtle position in those same situations! Whenever my opponent is about to pass my guard, I go to turtle to defend myself. To escape sidemount, I go to turtle. Then I try to turn over my opponent from turtle, or go back to guard. Eduardo Telles is like a much more advanced version of myself!
I have never agreed with the "traditional" BJJ theory that you should NEVER turn your back to your opponent.

This works only for grappling. in real fight, you are done showing your back.

the guy who is speaking for him sounds retarded....

Queria ter esse estilo do Telles, mas meu irmão é muito treino!
