I agree with you for the most part, however sometimes record labels release songs, and even entire albums which the artists do not like and it happens because of contracts. I'm not saying that that's the only thing that happens, though. Obviously some 'artists' release stuff simply for money and fame.

@Mekakakaka - I remember hearing a quote form Bono saying "If we put out 3 bad records in a row we'ld stop". Well, if they're waiting for someone else to tell them whether the music they were playing is good or not, then they should've stopped a long time ago. Further more why put out an album if it was no good? Money and ego - thats why. Radiohead just seem to stand so firmly behind everything they've ever done. They clearly believe in the music they write - it comes from a purer place.
