This is a video taken by the Samsung Galaxy S2 to show how the camera [awesomely] focuses on the objects during video capture.

  • How so you get this to work...it doesn't seem to be focusing on close up objects...rather they appear blurry...i need to know how to get this seafoods feature to work!

  • @wanafag you need to keep it stable for about 3 seconds for it to recognize the distance.. then it focuses if it can.. but you need to keep it really stable!

  • iphone 4s has better quality

  • @movania89 post response on this video to prove it..

  • nice, he have touch focus too???

  • @schmoofadoop "Hopefully they address this, but i don't have my hopes"

That doesn't make any sense lol

  • I submitted a bug report to Samsung about not having the ability to tap to focus while shooting video... if it works while using the camera it should work while using the camcorder.

Hopefully they address this, but I don't have my hopes.

  • @fayerdada Actually it only does touch to focus while using the camera... NOT while filming video.

I find this extremely annoying coming from a 4S with this feature, but it's only an issue from my experience when closer than 6" to an object... otherwise it does a great job. I also strongly prefer the video quality of the GS2 as the "image stabilization" with the 4S introduced a lot of smearing to the video.

I'll post a separate link to the video I made showing the issues with the auto-focus

  • @fayerdada I bought and returned the 4S and it absolutely does have better quality. I would say the GS2 is 90% as good in daylight, and 80% as good in low light conditions. I am still very happy with the GS2, but I can honestly say there is a significant difference.

I don't have any video to upload, but you can see it clearly in this review:

  • @fayerdada

OK, man thanks ;-) i will buy this phone tomorrow!!!
