Among the many parties contesting Iraqs general election on Sunday will be one of the oldest -- the Iraqi Communist Party. Founded more than 75 years ago, its members were severely repressed under the Saddam Hussein regime. Since his fall in 2003, the party has sought to rebuild itself. But the increased importance of religion in post-Saddam Iraq still weighs heavily on its meagre electoral prospects. Duration: 01:33.

  • Communist revolution.. kick out the puppets .. no more US colonialism

  • @KarlBonner1982 I'm not sure about that economic program; The oil part sounds decent; But what country needs is investment, not welfare. I think that the oil money should be used to found an Dam & Hydroelectric SOE as well as an irrigation engineer firm and a construction firm.

  • jamalah jamalah jamalah jamalah jamalah jamalah

  • you all, as socialist's must condemn the savage acts of youre failed brother Khadaffi. shun him! curse his demon soul.

  • Actually a noncommunist version of their Communist Party - liberal, secular, equal rights and all, fairly rapid phaseout of remaining US troops - but an economic program along the lines of Western European welfare capitalism, that would be an excellent party for social progress and prosperity. Public ownership of the oil reserves, with extraction rights licensed to private companies for a substantial fee and the rate of total extraction capped by law.

  • iraq needs a communist party - a secular state, with equality for women, religious freedom, foreign troops out, and vast oil reserves nationalized for the benefit of iraq's poorest. they were tortured and murdered under saddam - now they have an opportunity to grow

  • long live working class of Iraq !!!

Long live Marxism Leninism and Maoism !!!

Down with neo-liberal puppet regimes !!!

  • @vsboy25sgreatuncle freeing lol?...

saddam killed 300,000 Iraqis... the freeing killed 1 million.

The coalition forces should've left em to nuke each other.. would've taken longer but saved alot of cash.
