Did he race in Group B?? No, well that era produced the best drivers. Him dominating today among a field of two factory teams and a watered down sport with little talent means little.

Sebastian Bourdais won 4 straight titles in CART, but look what happened when he got into F1. Nothing.

Markku Alen. 796 stage wins in 129 starts. Still the record of all time. Also Alen raced and won in front wheel drive, rear wheel drive, 4WD, Group B monsters, WRC cars. He could race anything.
